Thyroid disorders and role of Homoeopathy

Thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate basal metabolic rate of the body. Thyroid disorders are conditions which affect the thyroid gland. There are various types of thyroid disorders that affect its function and structure.
When the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones to maintain normal functioning of the body, in conventional treatment, hormones are provided orally. Providing thyroid hormones externally just controls the symptoms of the disease, but does not treat the actual defect.

Homoeopathy targets to treat functioning of thyroid gland,

by constitutional approach

Diseases like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Grave's disease, Goitre, thyroiditis, carcinoma of thyroid all can be managed and treated with Homoeopathy. Common symptoms suffered by a patient of thyroid disease are lethargy, depression, weight gain or loss, constipation, heat intolerance, palpitations, headache, muscle weakness. Homoeopathy can manage all the above listed symptoms.
Homoeopathy targets the cause of development of thyroid disease. Thyroid gland functions by releasing hormones and is also controlled by hormones released from pituitary. Hormonal imbalance usually occurs due to excessive use of medicines and stress. So when a patient presents with thyroid disease, detailed case history is taken and patient's stress level is investigated. Researchers usually state that stress is the main cause behind development of most of the diseases. But no system of medicine is treating this cause of disease, except for Homoeopathy. This is the reason homoeopathy is known for permanent cure in illnesses.
In thyroid disorders, various approaches are followed in its treatment. Treatment with homoeopathy brings about overall health of the individual.
